Happy Hump Day!!

This past December GND had a very informative presentation on The Grassroots Climate Action. This presentation shows us what is being done, what can be done and what we can work on collectively to save our planet from a disastrous future.

Watch during your free time, when you are bored or when you just want to procrastinate from school work and tell us what you think!! We love your commentary.

In TWO days, join us for our February Third Thursday Cafe!!

February 18th at 8pm PST, with a casual meet-and-greet starting at 7:45pm. This month, we are focusing on one crucial aspect of climate communication: personal climate stories and why they matter in activism. We will do a few interactive activities and have some casual discussion around climate storytelling, including holding space for anyone who wants to share their own story.

We hope that in addition to discussing the importance of these climate stories, we will also be able to get to know each other a little better!

Please sign up for our mailing list to receive the zoom link and password: https://ucsdgreennewdeal.net/index.php/mailing-list/

See you all there!!

Happy Friday!! Because we all need a little help in sparking ✨ our spirit to keep on fighting sometimes. This poem, Earthrise 🌍, by Amanda Gorman gives us the inspiration we look for in others and try to recreate ourselves.

If hydrocarbon magnates continue to use universities & other institutions to subsidize their research agenda at public expense & culturally legitimate their media presence & wealth, fossil fuel hegemony will reign, and move the US one step closer to a corporate plutocracy. https://t.co/fia2txw6mk

What's the relation between the massive, sustained, Indian farmers protests and climate change?

@Monde_diplo argues extreme weather events & uneven rainfall exacerbated the agricultural crisis to the point the government felt forced to privatize https://t.co/25qRWn12ul
